There is a state recertification manual that spells out everything in detail. The localities have discretion within those parameters.
Anyway, if you could figure out a way to give the entire 180 points to those who don't need actual college credit, I bet you'd have some takers. And this would still save money for those taking just the points.
Just a thought! Since you can receive only a max of 90 pts per professional development activity and since the SI is worth 6 hours of credit (i.e. 2-3hr. courses), could you give a different "title" to each part of the SI. Maybe "Best Practices" to…

Sounds like a workable schedule. Keep me updated on what you need me to do.
I'm excited over the new book!! Maybe once we get it out, the localities will be a little more receptive to our various programs. It should give us a lot more credibility as a "go-to" source for writing.
I'm not sure about that date; we had sort of planned to be out of town. I'll let you know something more definite when I find out for sure.

- Karen, the books only come to 475. Will you find out if Wise County will let us use the rest of the match to help pay instructors? We were over our budget by about $300 on instructor pay (I think because we added Joan). I can send documentation of their honoraria if they need that.

- I will be at the school board office tomorrow so I'll reinforce the explanation about the invoice to Brenda.
Can you also send me documentation of the student/parent pay (copies of checks or receipts). If you can get an administrator to sign off on the site support (facilities, transportation, and food) that would be great too. I want to make sure UVA certifies all this cost share.
